You only have a few more days to renew your membership if you want priority entry to the semi final games.
We won’t be filling out membership cards and dealing with membership issues on Tuesday. The cards will be there at the next home game. You can collect your card AFTER THE MATCH.
Anyone who comes over and asks me for cards or about membership during the game will have to buy me a beer on Tuesday.
To help out members who haven’t got their cards, we will be in the Butcher & Bullock on the afternoon of Sunday 22nd April between 3pm and 5pm – You must come down and collect your card either at the next game or on Sunday afternoon. After Sunday at 5pm, membership sales will be temporarily halted until after Tuesday’s game, so that we can process the Priority Entry lists and finalize arrangements with the pub.
Memberships will go back on sale following the game.
Much to the annoyance and discontent of our rivals, the Mighty Reds have once again set Europe ablaze this season with a staggering display of attacking football, leaving some of Europe’s “best teams” in the dust. The Red Machine rolls on as we take on Roma in the Champions League Semi Final First Leg on Tuesday 24th April, at 11:45am
- 10:30am – Doors open for LFC Vancouver Members
- 11:15am – Doors open for the public
- 11:45am – Kick off
For LFC Vancouver members (with a valid membership card stamped ’17 or ’18, and priority entry email) the doors open at 10:30am. As per previous big games: There are no table reservations. It’s FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED. Friends that aren’t members will have to wait outside. No Exceptions! Priority emails will be sent to members on Monday 23rd April.
For the public, doors open at 11:15am as normal. As the Butcher will most likely reach capacity, the Blackbird Public House and The Railway Club will be also be open for people to watch the games. Both venues are currently accepting table reservations.
If you don’t have a membership, you can buy one from our online store. Membership cards will be available for pick up at the West Brom game.
Firstly – Thanks to all of our members who have recently renewed for next season and who support the club and venue week in and week out. It really helps us to have a large base of passionate Reds.
Second – membership cards – Membership cards were last issued in the 2016/2017 season. We still have a lot of members who paid their 2016-2017 memberships but never collected their cards, and didn’t renew in subsequent years. If you want to get priority entry for the Champions League semi-final, you need to have a valid 2017-2018 membership, or purchase your 2018-2019 membership now. Thanks to those people who renewed for 2018-2019 at the Bournemouth game. We are now at 30 members for 2018-2019 and 70 members for 2017-2018. That means there are 100 people eligible for priority entry.
The capacity of the pub is around 160 so priority members are going to have the best choice of seats and tables for the games. Remember that it is first come first served so if you want particular tables you need to show up early.
Moving forward into 2018-2019 we are going to be working with the pub to ensure that only LFC Vancouver card holding members can get the 20% food discount and drink specials on match days, so it’s more important than ever to sign up and support the club.
Sad News… Yesterday, one of LFC Vancouver’s longest serving members sadly passed away following a short illness. Amin was an ever present at games, and was always very passionate in his support of not just Liverpool but other soccer teams as well. He will be missed by everyone at the Butcher and Bullock. Our sympathies go to his family and friends.
Rest in Peace Amin. You’ll Never Walk Alone.
Amin’s funeral will be held on Thursday 1st Feb 2018 at 11:00am, and it will take place at The Ismaili Jamatkhana, Burnaby (6556 Sprott Street, V5B 3B9)
Amin’s family have asked that anyone who wants to attend – please send a note to Kevin @ email@example.com so they can have an idea of numbers.
In the annual game vs Chelsea FC Vancouver, a valiant 15 reds took on the blue hordes of 25 Chelsea fans on a hot morning at Trillium fields. Despite controlling the game and creating the most chances, LFC Vancouver ran out 4-0 losers in a game where the score definitely did not reflect the game! So, after several years of success, we lost the trophy. We’ll win it back next year. Thanks to all those who came to play.
This past weekend, the annual Donnelly Supporter’s Trophy tournament took place. LFC Vancouver unfortunately did not get enough players to enter a full team of 12, but thanks to the efforts of those members who did sign up, we were able to get a team with various volunteers to make up the numbers. The tournament was a high standard and LFC Vancouver’s team did not make it past the group stage. The tournament was eventually won by Man City who fielded a large number of south american players who didn’t seem to know much about Man City. Thanks again to those members that came down, and called friends/acquaintances to come and play for us at the last minute.
