2023 / 2024 Season – Club Announcement

Last season was challenging for OLSC Vancouver and our partners at the Butcher & Bullock. Game attendance dropped significantly, and we lost our status as the biggest and best-supported club in Vancouver, with rivals like Chelsea consistently drawing higher crowds. The hospitality industry also faced numerous challenges during this time.

For the upcoming 2023/2024 season, we will be selling memberships, but please note that membership does not guarantee priority entry to games. Attendance is open to all, regardless of membership.

To help us track loyalty and attendance, we recommend all members sign up for the Freehouse.co loyalty program, which offers rewards and cashback for spending at the Butcher & Bullock. This helps us monitor who attends each game and for the bigger fixtures, the pub will provide us with lists of who has attended the most games so that we can give people priority based on how many games they’ve attended.

Buying a membership means supporting OLSC for the season, and the fees will go towards running the club website and hopefully some new club merchandise. We encourage fans to attend as many games as possible at the Butcher and Bullock this season!

Club Update – May 2020

The Premier League announced Phase 2 of the ramp up to the restart of the Premier League and we are also able to say that the reopening of The Butcher & Bullock is also underway.

The Donnelly Group is slowly reopening it’s bars in a phased fashion. There is no firm date yet for the Butcher & Bullock reopening but it will reopen, and it should be in time for the restart of the Premier League if things stay on track in the UK.

Obviously there will be lots of questions around watching matches at the pub, and limited capacity. We don’t have the answers to those questions yet, but will be working with the Donnelly Group to find a way that works safely and within guidelines for the club and venue. Stay tuned to this website, and we will publish any further info when we have it.

LFC Vancouver – COVID-19

The Premier League has suspended all games until April 4th 2020 due to the pandemic that’s spreading around the world. For the near future, there won’t be any games shown at the Butcher & Bullock.

Jurgen Klopp made a good statement that captures everything you need to know about what to do –

Aside from that message – Stay safe, and follow the guidelines, wash your hands etc – and hopefully we’ll see you at the Butcher & Bullock again very soon.

RIP Derek

This week one of our literally oldest members Derek Harper sadly passed away aged 87. Derek was famous for taking all combinations of bus and skytrain to make it in to games from White Rock. Many of you will also remember Derek for his famous cowboy hats and roll along suitcase. He was a much loved member of the club and will be missed. RIP Derek.
